The Central Idaho Amateur Radio Club meets regularly on the first Thursday of each Month at 7:00 P.M. local time, at the McCall St. Lukes Hospital Allen-Nokes Building , located at 200 Forest Street in McCall.       CIARC Members that have not forwarded their dues for the 2016 calendar year were automatically removed from the roster at midnight on March 31st. Dues can be forwarded to the Treasurer, Bob Renn, by mailing a check to:

      New member applicants, who have registered on the CIARC web-site, will not appear in the CIARC roster, and will not be granted member log-in access privileges to the CIARC web-site, until their dues payment has been received and recorded by the Treasurer.

      October's CIARC NET will e held on Wednesday, October 5th.

    5. Highway Cleanup [Richard Wagner - W7ELE]

      Hi-way Clean up Oct 1 2016. We had 5 volunteers including myself. My thanks to John Quinzio (K6JMQ), Larry Stokes (N7IBC), Dave Sorenson (KE7FST), and Karen Didisse (KG7MFC). We collected 9 bags of garbage in 2 hours.

    6. Election Nominations Next Month [Richard Wagner - W7ELE]

      The CIARC Constitution requires that nominations for officer positions occurs at the November meeting, followed by the election in December. Members are encouraged to consider who they would like to have serve in 2017.

      Although Ray Montagne (W7CIA) will continue to maintain the CIARC web-site, he indicates that he will be stepping down from the position of Secretary at the end of the year and asks that the membership consider nominating someone new to fulfill that position.

    8. Repeater Report [Ray Montagne - W7CIA]

      Multiple trips to both the No Business and Brundage Mt repeater sites have occurred since the last CIARC meeting. The new Yaesu DR-1X Fusion repeater, with Micor Squelch Gate, has been installed at No Business Mt. and the Kenwood TK-750 has been removed for service of the PA. A Micor Squelch Gate, donated by Ray Montagne (W7CIA), has been installed at the Brundage Mt. repeater. The 33cm Link Antenna, a Log Periodic in a Radome enclosure, has been installed at Brundage Mt.

      Thank you to Larry Stokes (N7IBC), Richard Wagner (W7ELE), Brian Gestrin (W7BWG), Brain Hamilton (N7BMH), Bill Beckham (W7CBS), John Quinzio (K6JMQ) and Jeff Lappin (KG7YUV) for their assistance. I apologize if I left someone out.

      Repair work on the Kenwood TK-750 repeater will occur over the winter cycle as time allows.

    9. W5YI-VE Team Report [Ray Montagne - W7CIA]

      August 6th saw the 8th Study Session & W5YI-VE Test Session, held at the Cascade EOC. This session resulted in licensing two Technician Class licensee and one General Class licensee. Congratulations to the following individuals:

      • Nathan Tuning - KI7GLC - Technician
      • Brett Copperi - KG7WVX - General

      September 10th saw the 9th Study Session & W5YI-VE Test Session, held at Idaho First Bank in McCall. This session resulted in licensing three Technician Class licensee and one General Class licensee. Congratulations to the following individuals:

      • Mark Johnson - KI7GZH - General
      • Barbara Kwader - KI7GZT - Technician
      • Garnet Kwader - KI7GZG - Technician

      Saturday, November 5th, will see the 10th session, to be held at Horseshoe Bend. Space is limited so this class will be limited to 30 registrants. Prior registration is required. Information is available on the CIARC web site. This session is being held at the request of the KA7ERV Repeater Group, and will be staffed by their VEs. Any VE team member is welcome to attend.
