  3. St. Lukes McCall MOU [Richard Wagner - KG7GKS]

Richard sent email on February 12th. P.R. person (Laura Crawford) has information on her desk and expects to get to it in the next few weeks.

  4. Brundage MOU [Richard Wagner - KG7GKS]

The proposed Brundage MOU DRAFT text was posted to the CIARC web site prior to the February meeting and has been available for membership review. Prior to that posting, the draft had been circulated among CIARC board members and all board input had been folded back into the document.

A motion is needed to bring the draft before the membership for a vote to approve the draft text. Upon approval, the draft needs to be circulated to appropriate Brundage Mt. staff, and any changes submitted by Brundage Mt. staff should be approved by CIARC membership and integrated into the final draft before all parties sign the MOU.

Moved by Ray Montagne [W7CIA], second by Bill Beckham [KG7GKK] and unanimously passed. Bill Beckham [KG7GKK] will drive moving the MOU through Brundage Mt. Ski Resort.

It should be noted that approval and signing of the Brundage Mt. MOU is viewed as critical by the Technical Committee. The Technical Committee does not feel comfortable performing even simple maintenance at the Brundage Mt. repeater site without having an MOU in place.

  6. VCSAR Disabled Veterans Snowmobile Ride [Ray Montagne - W7CIA]

Valley County Search And Rescue is supporting the Disabled Veterans Snowmobile Ride, to be held on March 14, 2015.

15 disabled veterans who are 50% disabled or more, are invited on an expense paid snowmobile ride in McCall. Although I was asked to provide a communications plan, I have no course information. Regardless, it would be very useful to have radio operators at key positions along the course. To sign up to assist, please contact Josh at (208) 422-1054 before February 15th.

Since VCSAR cannot use Public Safety frequencies for this event, and other radio services have extremely limited capabilities, we'ed like to ask any CIARC members that can participate by providing communications capabilities through the UHF repeater, to volunteer to assist with this event. If you have a snowmobile to travel to Burgdorf, that would be a tremendous asset.

Larry Mangum [KG7GKQ] indicated that the course will go from Francis Wallace (Warren Wagon Rd) to Burgdorf. Amateur Radio operators are needed at Burgdorf and Francis Wallace. Operators should arrive at the Valley County Search And Rescue trailer, which will be located at, or above, the Francis Wallace parking lot off of Warren Wagon Road.

  7. Repeater [Richard Wagner - KG7GKS]

Bob Renn [KF7JPJ] has completed the order of the Yaesu DR-1X repeater. Ray Montagne [W7CIA] has completed the order, and received, the 100-watt dummy load to be installed on the UHF Isolator when the DR-1X repeater is installed. A letter received from Yaesu announced approval of application to purchase the DR-1X repeater under the promotional program.

  8. Event Committee [Richard Wagner - KG7GKS]

Richard Wagner [KG7GKS] is proposing an event committee to staff a booth at local events, such as the McCall Winter Carnival, and other local community events. Contact Richard Wagner [KG7GKS] or Bob Renn [KF7JPJ] if you are interested.

The idea is for a small group to research upcoming events, and to define location, dates and cost involved to see if we are interested in putting a booth together for the event.

    Update submitted March 7, 2015.

  9. Highway Cleanup Signs [Richard Wagner - KG7GKS]

Richard Wagner [KG7GKS] needs the organization registration number. Richard Wagner [KG7GKS] proposes a clean-up event in May. Richard Wagner [KG7GKS] will make contact with the state to inquire about the signs.

  10. Kermit Peterson's Wife [Richard Wagner - KG7GKS]

The Central Idaho Amateur Radio Club respectfully extends condolences to Kermit Peterson for the loss of his wife on Monday. Services will be at the First Congregational Church (where CIARC meetings are held) on Saturday, March 7, at 1:00 PM.

  11. Floor Items [Richard Wagner - KG7GKS]

McCall Family Flying, August 1st and 2nd. No air show. Static display and possibly rides. Contact Karen Didisse [KG7MFC] to volunteer to help with security.

CIARC NET: Karen Didisse [KG7MFC] suggests running the NET on a once a month schedule. After discussion, the membership decided upon holding the NET on the Wednesday evening that immediately precedes the Thursday meeting (i.e. the day before the meeting). The NET will be held at at 8:00 PM. NET Control will be rotated monthly. The first CIARC NET will be on the 147.020 MHz repeater on April 1st.
