  4. Proposed Amendments to the Constitution & Bylaws. [Lenard Crogh - W7HXU]

Bill Beckham (KG7GKK), Ray Montagne (W7CIA) and Bob Renn (KF7JPJ) met several times between November 11th and 15th to discuss proposed changes to the Constitution and Bylaws. This was prompted by the discussion at the November meeting, where Bill and Ray were tasked with reviewing the constitution toward restoring the office of the Vice President, and the bylaws in support of fulfilling the office of the Vice President outside of the scope of annual elections.

Discussions included a review of the current constitution and bylaws toward making amendments to further empower the CIARC membership in interacting with the officers and the club, and to provide additional protections for the club.

The proposed changes can be reviewed on-line at:

For the proposed documents above, text to be deleted or replaced is indicated by strike-through, while additions appear in italic maroon text.

The current documents can be reviewed on-line at:

These documents were projected at the December meeting, as well as submitting a written copy, as required by the current rules of governance. A minor hand edit was performed to the proposed changes to Article 6. The printed edited document has been filed with CIARC documents, and the modification has been posted. A vote to approve or deny the proposed amendments to the constitution and bylaws will occur at the January meeting at the earliest.

The proposed amendments to the CIARC constitution and bylaws will be held at the January 2015 general meeting.

  5. Discussion on Non-Profit Status [Lenard Crogh - W7HXU, Bill Beckham - KG7GKK]

It has been determined that the CIARC does not need to file for a 501(c)3 status. CIARC is already a non-profit organization, and the requirement for filing as a 501(c)3 would only come into play should there be compensation to the officers. As the officers are not compensated, there is no need to pursue a 501(c)3 filing status.

Related: Ray Montagne will search the CIARC documents to see if an EIN number exists.

  6. Floor Items

Because of the New Years Holiday, the January CIARC meeting will be held on Thursday, January 8th.
