Agenda Items
  1. Membership Report.
    • There are no new members to report.
  2. Treasurer's Report.
    • Bob Renn (KF7JPJ) was authorized to make expenditures up to $80 to cover antenna mount modifications for the 2-meter repeater. Bob reports a realized cost of $45. The club balance stands at $996.43.
  3. Officers.
    • The constitution requires the following offices be filled:
      • President
      • Vice President
      • Treasurer / Secretary
    • Currently, the offices of President and Vice President are unfilled. Martin Tushkowski submitted a letter of resignation from the office of President by letter, dated September 1, 2012. There has been no nomination or election to fill the office of the Vice President.
    • Currently, the office of Treasurer / Secretary has been virtually split into separate offices, in violation of the constitution.
    • Does the club want to address this now or await the general election in December?
      • The membership indicates that they would like to wait until the December elections to address the vacant offices.
  4. Repeater Report.
    • 2-meters
      • Both Sheriff Bolen and Deputy Sheriff Coombs have been informed that the CIARC membership approved the language of the MOU. Deputy Sheriff Coombs acknowledged this notification and indicated that they are awaiting specification approval by their technician.
      • Bob Renn (KF7JPJ) has had the fabrication of the modifications to the 2-meter antenna mounting bracket completed.
      • A cable assembly for the 2-meter back-up battery, using Anderson Power Poles, will need to be fabricated before installation of the repeater is completed. If the back-up battery is not a sealed battery then battery maintenance should be performed prior to installation (Ray Montagne has distilled water).
    • 70cm
      • Lenard Crogh (W7HXU) and Ray Montagne (W7CIA) repaired the high VSWR issue with 70cm repeater on Brundage Mountain. Lenard also tightened all of the antenna mounting hardware and the 70cm antenna is no longer in danger of falling off of the building.
      • Although the 70cm repeater is now operational and ready for use, initial observations are that the repeter still exhibits the problem that was previously observed where the transmitter does not always come up when a signal is transmitted on the repeater input. This may be due to the the CTCSS decoder failing to decode the user's encoded CTCSS or a fault in the controller.
      • One more trip to Brundage Mountain is required to install an extension cord for the back-up battery charger. The battery is a sealed battery so no water needs to be added.
  5. Control Operator List for Valley County. This is CIARC deliverable as per the pending Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU).
    • Ray Montagne (W7CIA), since Ray has the control codes as required to perform maintenance tasks on the repeater hardware.
    • Four control operators have been designated. A prioritized list includes:
      • Ray Montagne
      • Larry Stokes
      • Bob Renn
      • Dave McQuade
Floor Items
  1. Larry Stokes (N7IBC) will accept trusteeship of the club license.
  2. The Central Idaho Amateur Radio Club would like to thank Martin Tushkowski (KE7KQE) for his service to the club.
